Head of School Welcome

Welcome to DSC!

It is my honour to welcome you to DSC International School (DSC).

DSC is a Canadian International School with 38 years of excellence. Our programs, curriculum, and educational philosophy ensures that our graduates leave with future-ready skills, knowledge, and global awareness. Our teachers offer a supportive, challenging, and engaging learning environment. This ensures students develop future-ready transferable skills within our cross curricular and integrated learning model. DSC’s educational philosophy inspires students to strive for excellence and make a positive difference within the local and global communities. We do this by promoting a love of learning and developing students’ social, emotional, intellectual, and physical intelligence.

Our student body represents more than 50 nationalities with over 1,100 students enrolled from Early Years (4 year old) through grade 12. As a through-train school, with all grades enrolled on the same campus, students develop strong bonds and our senior secondary students benefit from the leadership skills they develop while mentoring and coaching elementary students. DSC’s community is built around the principles of inclusivity, kindness, student success, and extracurricular enrichment.

DSC’s teaching team has over 100 educators with the large majority, over 90%, being Canadian trained teachers. All members of our teaching teams are qualified and experienced educators registered with the EDB and the Ontario College of Teachers. Our teachers demonstrate the same love of learning that they strongly advocate for within our student community. A large percentage of teachers have advanced university degrees and additional qualification courses from universities in Ontario, Canada. We firmly believe that the process of upskilling and professional learning ensures we stay focused on student success by continually enhancing our teaching strategies, curriculum planning, assessment and evaluation approaches, and other professional skills.

The Canadian curriculum is well respected globally and Canadian educated students consistently out perform their peers on international standardized tests. DSC’s curriculum focuses on the development of transferable skills within our cross curriculum and integrated learning model. This approach ensures our students are successful and are prepared for post-secondary education.
